Busted Differential? how to check?
I have a problem, I just swapped a H22a w/MT into my 92 prelude. After finishing I lowered the car and took it on a quick test everything seemed to be fine but I didn’t try and stress anything just a nice easy tour. Then when I got back to my garage, I tried driving it back up on the ramps. (So I could get it ready for when my new header arrives) When I did this I gave it gas and was slowly letting out the clutch, the car was having a hard time so I gave it more gas.
When I did this the car made a loud noise and I lost all power to the wheels. The gears still shift, and the engine still runs but none of the power is getting to the wheels. I even jacked the car up to see if the wheels would turn if they had no resistance, but still nothing.
My question is could the transmission itself be screwed like broken gears? Or can it be just the clutch? I am in the process of taking the transmission off but I want an idea of what I should be looking for.

99.999% you just broke an axle
honda differentals just dont break.
start the car
put it in gear
open the hood
look at your axles
one will probably be moving and spinning but a broken joint will keep it from getting to the wheels.
if you DONT SEE ONE MOVING
remove the axles and manually check them.
ive never seen a stock engine break a differental.

no problem
one thing i forgot to add was if you dont see the axle turning
you might want to get under the car while its running and look at the inner joints
and see if that it turning
odds are its an outer joint tho, i had one break on me 2 days after my swap thought it was my differental too.

well, both axles were not turning there was no distinked noise. The gear shift but it does not make the wheels move. I removed the axles and the tranny. When i turn the main shaft by hand the gears on the diferential turn but is there any way to make sure that is not the problem. Thanks
if you turned the mainshaft and the diff turns it probably is an axle
put 1 hand on each end of the axle and turn in opposite directions. if it moves, its broken
