Default CF Hood 0 Me 1, or look at my short ram CAI

I recently purchased a J's intake, and was slightly concerned about all the hot air in my engine bay. I'm not feeling too wordy this morning, so I'll keep it short.

Used hood scoop from a Turbo Sprint: $60
Black spray paint: $8

I made a template out of cardboard.

Lined it up over the air filter and hood pin.

Minigrinder OWNZ CF hood.

Fabbed some brackets out of aluminium I had lying around.

Scoop in place.

Took me 4 hrs, but I did it at work: -$150

Whatcha think?

[edit] I'm going to make an airbox or heatshield in the future, just ran out of energy today.

on a normal/cf hood i'd say it might be a worth while venture, but i mean, come on now, what about the 2 huge holes in the middle of the hood?

other than that, its very creative and most people on this board would not have the ***** to cut through the holy grail of cf...

It looks good, and you get mad ***** points for cutting up a CF hood... but what happens in the rain?! Your filter is going to get wet as ****... hydrolock?

Wouldnt you already have a lot of air in the engine bay anyways with that hood? I mean, air comes in the grille and out the top of the hood, right? Not trying to bust in you at all, just trying to understand the performance gain. BTW, nice install, gotta love custom fab work
