Default lowered crx...needs floor jack!

ok, i didn't expect to get a floor jack for christmas, but my mom got me one. its nice and everything, but the jack isnt' doing its job with my car. i need another jack now, and want some opinions from you ef guys.

the jack i currently am (not) using, lifts from 5 and a half inches to 13 inches. it won't fit under the front of my car unless i put the car on blocks. then, the jack only lifts 13inches, so the jack stands won't fit under the car on the pinch welds at the sides (i believe that "pinch weld" is the term, right?). anyways, there's not enough room to get under the car to change oil, fix my short shifter, or whatever.

what do you guys with lowered efs use as far as floor jacks go? i was thinking about anything that's obviously gotta be lower than 5 1/2", and then with a lift of like 20". will 20" be enough of a lift for later on when i put on a cat back (IE- will i have enough room to work reasonably? i'm not a big guy, i'm kinda skinny if that helps)?

any help would be great...thanks!

I have one of those floor jacks that only lifts the car around 13" and it works for me I put the jack stands further under the car and not on the pinch welds now let alone my car isnt lowered but it still lifts it up enough for me to do everything to it. I completely stripped my 91 Si using that jack and that was with me taking off the exhaust and the rear disc brakes and everything else underneath (to a point after I got all of the good parts off I just completely set the car on its side to do the rest that I needed to do) But I would look for another jack that is obviously shorter for your use. I dont see that jack being a problem in the rear though??

I use a Craftsman 3 Ton Jack. It usually will fit under the plate on the front of my car and lifts to 21'' and has been more than enough for me to change out my shifter and oil and all that.

Default Harbor Freight Jack

If you haven't got anything yet, I'd go with the Harbor Freight all aluminum jack. I got it for Christmas (its a little on the expensive side; $199.99), but it works and looks like those $600 ones. If you can a afford it, its well worth it. It's a single roller front design, and goes to something like 17 and 1/2 in. fully raised from roughly 3 to four inches all the way down. Anyways, just a thought.

I have the Craftsman high-lift (21") though the saddle height it 6". I'm going to find some lower-profile wheels or modify the front axle and cut the saddle lower and weld it back up. That should drop it to 3" min clearance which will be gravy!

I just have a regular 'ole floor jack that is probably older than me. I just pick up on the frontend and have someone push the jack under. Works fine and is cheap.

why not use the stock honda jack, then use your cool jack to lift it the rest of the way up?
