is it easy to replace the clutch, brake, and acceleration bracket?
i have a 1990 si hatchback. i was looking under my dash and i noticed a crack on my bracket that holds the clutch pedal. i guess from all the yrs pushing the clutch down to start the car and stuff it has cracked . . . has anyone changed it before? is it hard? any tips?
thanks

I belive 6 bolts hold on the assembly... maybe a couple more. Don't remeber exactly. I do remember there is one on the steering column... or near there, so you will have to drop it. Just take your time and make mental notes of what you had to do so you can enlighten the rest of us.

PS- You can IM BlackLude98 on AIM. Jesse did this very recently. I remember him talkin about it jus the other day.

You need to take out the dash to get to some of the bolts, and I picked up a complete pedal assembly for $50 from a junkyard. Are you sure its brocken? I have seen EF's with over 300,000 miles on them and the only problem was the rubber was worn down on the pedals .
I just took it off of my CRX parts car and yeah it was a PITA but you dont have to take out the dash. You should however drop your steering column not too bad only 4 bolts hold it up and it comes right down and if you want there is like 2 connectors on it to disconnect and then like either 1 or 2 bolts holding it down on the bottom, you take all 6 bolts out and the wire connectors and you can take the whole steering assembly out. I would also take out your front seat so its easier for you to lay on your back and get all of the bolts out.Oh and also you may have to take out one of the plastic pieces for your vents to get to the screws way up on top. I know I had to with the CRX but they may be routed different in the Hatch. But even if you do it slides right out and slides back in pretty easy.

alright. . . . thanks guys. im going to go to the junkyard that my friend works at today and see if he can find me the things i need. . .
Buy it from honda...tell them you just want the bracket not the whole assembly its like $70 canadian. I broke 2 of these piece of **** brackets(used ones). No its not diffucult to change but it takes a whole lot of time especially doing it for the first time.
I broke 2 with my act heavy duty clutch and my friend broke one with his stock clutch in his 88 wagon. So it doesn't seem to matter. One time I had to get a tow home because the clutch was so mangled it looked liked it was facing the door.
Did yours brake where the clutch pivots on? Here I drew a super crappy pic but this is where mine kept braking.
The orange is the clutch pedal the black is the bracket, the red is were the weld broke
The grey is a bolt I put through another used bracket...just drill a hole through and put any nut and bolt ,I used a locking nut so it wouldn't get loose. If you put a bolt through it will help take some stress off that weld as it seems most of these pos brackets are prone to braking. I haven't broke a bracket since I used the bolt so I guess its working.
