Stock vs. stock, the b18c1 and the b16b will have pretty similar performance. The B18 will probably feel faster because of higher low-end torque. B16B will have bigger bragging rights--that's its biggest advantage.

I just don't think a B16B is easily found for 5k.

You have 5k, get a Type R swap(1.8). I know it's not in your list, but the B16B is just as much as the JDM B18C.

I found a 99 B16B with 26,000kl on it for $4100 shipped to my door, complete swap and a B18C for $3500 shipped to my door. B18C5 is $4900 to my door

I might go with the B16B just to be different. I want to go all-motor with maybe a little shot of NOS here and there.

if u have $5000 there is no choice, you buy an ITR!!!!

I have a b16a
it sux, i mean its faster than any prelude or civic or integra stock
but a stock itr is faster than a GT and tuned with internals is very nice for 100,000miles
also like a few posts up you could buy a $3500b18c and then boost that or tune it NA and still be faster for an itr outta the box!

a friend of mine tried this setup and was very unhappy wth it . if you are going to get a swap i suggest getting a b18c5 . if you are not going to worry about emessions then go wth a jdm b18c ITR or gsr .

I guess that it depends on how easy of a swap that your looking for. Your car is OBDII so the GSR motor would be good and strong Or you could go with a B18b motor and do the LS/Vtec with the B16 head on it. You'll even get more power and torque out of the LS/Vtec swap than the GSR motor. It'll even be cheaper than the GSR motor too. Tip the glass

Lifes fast, stomp it down!

wit that much cash you should either get b18c1+boost or b18c5+tuning...can't go wrong woth either of these choices...with the b16b you'll eventually want more power so just leave it...

B16B is a waste of money,IMO you should get a B18C1 and throw some bolt-ons onto it.For the price it can't be beat.
