How do I turn the maintenance required light off in my 95 LS?

How do I turn the maintenance required light off in my 95 LS?
It's been on for about 500 miles now and I know I need an oil change. Will it go off after I change the oil or will I have to reset something?
And I mean 500 miles past oil change.

underneath the dash underneath the steering wheel, feel underneath there and you will find a little blue button, push it down for a few seconds and it will go away

Be sure to push the button in while turning the key to a power setting (but not starting the car) for about 2 seconds.
