For those who have a VAFC in you ITR, where did you mount it?
I see the standard spot of either replacing the ashtray with it or placing it in front.
For me that would be a inconvenience because I use the ashtray to store small items and money.
Where else would be a "outta the way" place BUT still in sight?

I've got mine in the ash tray, you should get an iPass (or whatever the equivelent is in your state for the tollways), ditch your change, and use your change drawer dealy to hold your stuff and mount the VAFC in the ash tray.
Mine is mounted flush with all the rest of the stuff in my enter console, so it looks OEM like it came with the car. (EVERY girl that gets in my car asks me if it did or not in fact.

Make a bracket to mount it off the A-Pillar. Im sure you have seen it in my car Rob.

I have had mine on the steering column, and attached to the front of the ash tray. Ash tray was still useable, since I only used velcroe to secure it to the front...

I went to Home Depot and got enough velco so that I could stick it in more than one place. I velcro-ed the VAFC to the mount that it comes with and then I also put velcro on the bottom of the mount. I can mount it either in the tray between the ashtray and radio or in front of me in the gauge cluster. I don't really see the point in mounting around the ashtray/radio area unless you're going for the *bling*. It's hard to see the monitor at that location without having to really take your eyes off the road. I'm going to put my in the glove soon since I've gotten over having that cool monitor to look at.

I know this isn't on topic exactly, but are yall really impressed with that, because I have been told its not really worth all the money and I should just get a hondata??
I would just like to reccomend something. Walk up to your drivers side window, and look in, if you can easily spot your vafc, so can a thief. The glovebox is the safest place, but for those that need it mounted closer and always visible, the area above the rear view mirror is more than awesome. just a suggestion.

obviously not an r but mine is also above the rearview. People looking into the car cant see it unless they are bending down and looking up. If you want to hide it from people that drive behind you can either flip it up or modify a cloth case from a pair of sunglasses to slip over it.
