Default Do harness's expire like in drag racing?

I have some older 5 point belts lying around from my drag racing days but they are beyond the 2 year life allowen in NHRA drag racing. Do these same rules apply to autocross and road racing if I want to use the belts for that purpose?

Thanks

SCCA just imposed a 2 year limit on belts as well. I believe the old standard was 5 years.

unless you wrecked with the harness. i think you need to replace after the belt is stretched

The materials that make up the belt webbing and thread will deteriorate over time, especially from exposure to sunlight. I think the current standards dictate that belt webbing should be replaced after 2 years, independent of whether or not a crash has occurred.
There's a good "article" (and I use quotes, since it is in a catalog for someone selling belts) on this in the latest Racer Wholesale catalog. http://www.racerwholesale.com
