Best rotors that help prevent warping on Hondas? Is it possible?
Are there particular rotors that guys are running to minimize the warping of the rotors for Autocross and track events?
I have a 95 GSR and I just replaced the rotors six months ago and the rotors are already warped. I have been using the ebc green stuff pads. I use the car mostly for Autocross and daily driving.
So what do you recommend???

Crappy pads are the number one cause of warped rotors from unevenly deposited pad material on rotor surface. Get some good pads with brembo blanks. That's all you need, really...
Most Rotor warpage is due to material transfer from your brake pads to your rotors. I "warped" My Brembos after my first track event at CMP. But fixed them by sanding them and using brake cleaner on them. Also to keep this form happening again I let my brakes cool by riding around in the paddock after coming of track and not using the e-brake at all.
I concur with jsi. I proved that very same point to myself early this year. One weekend with crap pads, the following weekend with good pads. Same track, same car, same tires. Crap pads = brake shudder from hell. good pads = no shudder.
Edit: Want to clarify this. When this uneven pad material transfer happens, the rotor is not actually warped. It just feels like it.

You probably noticed that I am using the ebc green, no one commented on that. So are these good pads. If not, what Autox pad is recommended?
Most people thing EBC suck ***, I used them for a while for auto-x and they were ok.. however I got rid of them before I did a track event cuase they suck major on the track. Get some new 1 piece brembo blanks and some Axxis Ultiamtes and you will be amazed at the difference.

Good pads is only part of the story. You need to bed them properly too or even the best pads will transfer material. This is true for preparing new rotors too. Stoptech has a lot of good articles on "warping." Look under their myths section.
LOL, EBC... 3 letter word around here... Do a search on EBC in this forum... I never used them myself but I have never heard so many bad comments against one single product...
Crappy pads with 2-piece rotors will produce the same results.
Somebody should come with a really good filter like "smote" for EBC...

This is great feedback, I had no idea soooo many people had ill feelings for EBC. of course, thats why I am here, to learn what others have already been through.

As an employee of a brake manufacturer, I really can't say that EBC pads suck. So I'll let everyone else do that for me: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=355515

EBC, crap, crap smote, smote.
Get some R4's, and just put them on the "warped" rotors. They will clean off those rotors in no time with enough heavy braking.

Really, I would have never thought of that, will carb cleaner work just as well, what kind of grit did you use?
BTW, I have Hawk HP+ pads and they're really good.

Using Hawk Blue, Hawk HP+, and Carbotech pads I have never "warped" a single rotor.
I have cracked them, gouged them, and turned them a purpley blue color... But never warped them.

I think it was in the 800 grit range. Carb Cleaner would probably work too... I think I have used that in the past to clean a few things beside carbs... engines... heads... valve covers...

I've been running Carbotech pads (XPs) on Acura, Brembo, and AutoZone rotors and I NEVER get more than three HPDE days before "warping" (i.e. brake pedal and steering wheel shudder under braking) sets in. New rotors always solve the problem. I've been conscientious about proper bedding and running w/o braking on cool-down laps, etc. What gives?!
Have you modified your GS-R's brake system? If so, how?
im runnin hp+ and brembo blanks and there better than the autozone rotors i had that warped just autocrossing (back wen i had 2 cars so the honda was the weekend car only) i put the brembo blanks on and daily drove the car for a few months and they havent shown signs of warping yet. although, the hp+ are eatin them up=]

My girlfriend has been running the Carbotech pads on her WRX wagon and has had great experiences with them so far. (Thanks Evan for convincing her she needed them from the start of her track events). She put a considerable amount of track events and daily drove with them and is hooked. The rotors never warped, they did eventually crack though. That is to be expected though with the abuse she put them through. She loves them and does not want any other pads in the car right now.

I run brembo blanks then drilled by kvr in canada, and run hawk hp plus and or hawks blues. Not one warped rotor yet, a good fluid is a must in my experience.
