Default Throttle Body Swap out for the f22b1 (VTEC-145HP SOHC) & MPFI?

Just curious. What recommendations do you all have as far as swapping out the Throttle body for my f22b1 VTEC? Someone had said something about the MPFI change would help....Is that changing the ports or the Throttle body? I was curious what Engine's Throttle Body would be the best fit and most productive upgrade for my little engine. I Know what you're gonna say...either "SEARCH" I tried...or "Get an H22" hehe. I'm TRYING to save up for an H22...I'll have one ASAP, but for now...I wanted to know what is a good TB for my car and what other mods I can do to the MPFI of my car?

Thanks greatly for any help.

car is already mpfi.

you can swap out the accord throttle body for a unit off of an H23a1, H22a, or F20C. You must portmatch the intake manifold to get any gains.

Thanks man. So basically I need to have the ports bored out to match the TB ports right? Yeah I knew I already had MPFI...I thought that they had referred to upgrading the MPFI that was existing....hmmm...wonder if installing larger (higher flow) FI Ports would help? I would think so.

I would ask which TB would be better (H23a1, H22a, or F20C)? But if you knew of a site that has the specs for those (and any other engine parts would be GREAT).

It just so happens that a neighbor 2 doors down is a machinist and I do a lot of PC work for him...he'd probably bore the Intake Manifolder out for me for little to nothing...pretty sweet. I might just give it to him for the weekend and let him give me a 3angle valve job too. CRAP, I need a new timing belt too...still waiting on the old Kidney to sell on Ebay 1st

Thnx bud.

I don't want to put TOO much into this F22b1, I WILL eventually get a H22a for it.

Thanks again

yeah port match it,

sizes are pretty much the same around 60-62 mm except the h22a t/b has the map sensor mounted on the t/b and the h23 has just a seperate hose from the t/b to meet up with themap sensor, dont forget to get a new gasket/cut a new gasket

f20c is larger im guessing but for the price they would ask for this t/b might as well just buy the 70mm bbk t/b

are you saying the stock f22b1 and h22/h23 TB is the same size? what is the advantage of having the MAP sensor on the TB? or a tube that connects to it? how is that setup w/ the stock f22b1?

the map senser come attached to the tb, that is stock on all f22b1 engines. it's the like black box on the tb, if you ever get to see a pic on a f22b1 engine. for the advantage of having the m/s on the t/b........ i dont think there is one, execp it the tube for some resone can off then your engine would jump around like if it was having a seisur.( spell check)
