B18b Redline (did search)
My B18b swap was stolen last May. Im redoing the interior harness, because they cut the ecu when they stole it. I got a good deal on another ecu, chipped...upgraded fuel maps, and 8.5k redline. I plan on doing a medium all-motor build and figured that would be a good ecu for the build. While running stock could a 18b even handle 8.5k? I know the cam wont make power that high, but I just want to know that if I rev past 7 I wont mash stuff up in there.

what would be the point of revving past 7K? if the motor wont make power past that point then all ur doing is unnecessary damage to everything...try building for good low and midrang power instead of crazy high rpm power
it wont even get to 7500rpm and if it did something would break for sure, general rule of thumb, dont make a motor do something drastically different from what it was designed to do, like revving 1K+ past stock redlines

I had a built Ls and i had race cams on them. loss alot fo torque but made more power top end. (i was running stock block at this time and yes i was young and stupid. I was only 17) then i switch out the cams and head for a jg pro series head, put b16 piston in my block and jg street cams 301. it pulls nice and hard until like 7500.
I say go with low and mid range cams. btw im selling my ls top end.
