Default copper spray...

who's used it on their head gaskets?
any tips on applying it?

I use Permatex copper spray...you should be able to get it at any parts store like said above...don't install the gasket right away, let the spray become tacky or let it semi dry and do multiple coats.

What head gasket are you going to use it on? I wouldn't use it on any composite gasket, such as OEM Honda.

my friend had a lot of problems with his copper head gasket as he was sold one for a 99 SI. the coolant openings were slightly different and it cost him a radiator and a new oem gasket.

when I bolt down my ARP head studs, I'm certain the motor oil I use to lubricate the nuts will drip onto the head gasket (as it always happens), will this hurt the copper spray coating? Do I have to make sure the copper coated gasket stays dry w/ out any contamination of oil?
