Need Help QUICKLY with two Engine Swap Questions: EVAC Line & Vtec Wiring
I'm in the process of finishing up my swap today (JDM GSR into a '99 LS, using an OBDI ECU for the Hondata with a OBDII to OBDI jumper)
1. The EVAC vacum line that ran from the canister to my LS intake mainfold.... Well, I can not find the spot that this EVAC line should connect to on my GSR IM. Can anyone help me witht this?? Is it because the JDM GSR doesn't use/have this line? IS it possibly because the JDM GSR could be OBDI?? Or is is just that I haven't found it... and if so... where is it??
2. Does anyone have any wiring diagrams or adivce on the location of where the Vtec wires should go on to wire it up to the ECU?? Since I have a Jumper, I'm assuming that the Vtec lines in are in the jumper running from the OBDI ECU to to OBDII side of the jumper. So I guess what I would need to know is what the pin locations on the OBDII wiring Loom that Plugs into the jumper are (Vtec Sol, Vtec Press Switch, and Knock Sensor).
Any help would be appriciated ASAP!!!!
Thanks a ton!!!!!!

are u talking bout the EVAP?? mine was on fuel rail
as for VTEC wiring go to
http://www.jspectuning.com/6gen/
it has integra pinouts on there also

Yes, actually I did mean the EVAP line. And this line used to plug into my IM on my LS, but I can't seem to find it on my JDM GSR IM.
I'll look tomorrow.
I still don't have it running yet.... witch brings me to another problem. And since this is my only ride, I need to get it working tomorrow so I can get to work Monday.
I got screwed on the OBDII to OBDI Jumper I bought from I.B. with my engine. My jumper is wired from the OBDI ECU connectors and running to A, B, and C connectors on the OBDII teminal side, instead of A, C, and D connectors, which is what my OBDII wiring harness should be plugging into.
But anyway.... I've been trying to do some research on the net, and I'm going to try to rewire it myself without the Jumper (any adivice would be appriciated)
What I need is a web page with my OBDII '99 Integra LS pinouts. Anyone???
This is what I've come up with so far. If anyone has the info to double check it, and is bored and would like to help out a fellow H-T Member in need, I would greatly appricaite it!!!!!!

Now, I know this is a lot of tedious work, but I would greatly appriciate it if you could let me know if this is ok.
I compared the pinouts from a web page that lists the pinouts for P72 OBDI ECU (my new GSR ECU), and the pinouts for a 96-98 EK OBD II ECU.
Would the pinouts from this ECU and my '99 LS ECU be the same since they are both OBDII??? If not, can anyone tell me a good webpage with '99 LS OBDII pinouts????
Thanks again for any help you can give me!!!! I really need to get this thing working tomorrow!!!!!!

I can help with #1, but I don't have the OBD-II ECU pinouts.
From teh EVAP canister, the top/middle nipple goes to the top of the EVAP purge solenoid. From the bottom of the EVAP purge solenoid, the vacuum line goes to a fitting on the intake manifold, right by the throttle body on the back side of the manifold.
If you don't know what the EVAP purge solenoid is....it's a black, plastic piece sitting right above the MAP sensor with a wire connector and two vacuum lines....one facing straight down.
Again....on the EVAP canister. The nipple below the top/middle one goes to the throttle body...the nipple right next to the idle adjustment screw/below the MAP sensor. This is the thicker of the three hoses coming off of the EVAP canister.
Again....on the EVAP canister. The nipple (all by itself), goes to the EVAP two-way valve. It should already be hooked up.

Ok, guys....
Sorry to beat a dead horse on this... but my wiring schemes were all wrong because I was under the assumtion that the 6th Gen Civin pinouts are the same as my '99 LS (from outside influinces), but they are not.
So, I need the pinouts for '99 Integra LS P75 ECU (that uses terminal A, C, & D).
If you guys can help me out ASAP I would greatly appricaite it!!!
8hrs and counting before I need to drive to work..................
(I wonder what the Bus schedule looks like)

Actually, that is what I figured. And I tried that. But it wouldn't run right at all. It would would stall below 1500RPMs, it was difficult to get started. And I was just a little worried about screwing anything up by doing that. I didn't think it would be very good.
I figured that since I have almost a 2.0L bore, and the Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, that the fuel map and stuff from my LS ECU were too far off.
So so you think that even though it is running so poorly it would be safe to drive that way?

you can temporarily drive it on any ecu that makes it run; just dont take it over say 4k or so and try not to put yourself in a situation where you need to accelerate fast. i was always concerned about washing cyl walls out from rich a/f when doing this type of thing, but that will not happen...
Running rich?
I know the LS ECU will go into 'safe mode' since it will be throwing all kinds of codes. And I know that safe mode will make the engine run rich, at least on the stock engine.
Will it still make it run rich enough with the LS Fuel Maps even with my new Engine (see sig)?
And if it does run rich, you don't think it will present a problem?
I mean, with all the money I spent on this thing, and the fact that it still needs to be broken in, I just want to make sure I don't screw it up!
Thanks for the help!!!!

Your motor will be fine breaking it in with that ecu. You cant do any real tuning anyways until it is broken in.
PS. I dont think it will throw any codes on a b18c motor since it will be looking for less sensors than the b18c. Unless your block is missing the ckf sensor and evap.

Ok,
Tried running it on my LS ECU, and this is what happened:
It turned over when it was cool and idled ok at around 1500 RPMs. But after it warms up, and the idle stepper drops the idle RPMs down and then engine just wants to die. It won't run anything under 1500 RPMs. And then since it is warmed up, and it wants to start up at the normal idle speed (around 700 RPMs or so) and the thing just doesn't want turn over. It it sputters and spits for a few seconds then dies. So needless to say, it's still at my friends house.
It was suggested to me that the MAP and TPS sensors could be mixed up? Does this sound like the case? Or do you think it's just because the LS ECU won't run the Modded GSR?
Thanks again!

Anyone?
Since it is 45 minutes way at my friends house, I want to get some opinions about it it is the MAP/TPS problem or just the ECU before I make someone drive me out there.
Thanks!

Anyone??
I didn't get the damn Jumper from IB today like Jeff told me. Anyone have any thoughts on the MAP/TPS Sensor thing real quick before I decide to head out there and give it another shot on my LS ECU???????
I don't want to miss another day of work. Now it's costing me money since I don't get paid for days of work I miss!
Advice???

Finally!!!!!
I got the Jumper last night. And got it running!
But when I pluged in the GSR ECU and Hondata... the thing wouldn't turn over at all. Needless to say.. I WAS PISSED! So I pulled the spark plugs.... they were charcole black!! (Man, that LS ECU must have been running RICH AS HELL, because they got that way from a total of idling time of about 25-30 minutes. So I went to the store bought a cheep set of BOSCH to give it a try, replaced them. And it fired up like a champ. Now all I have to do is finish up the Vtec wiring to the ECU. And work out a few minor glitches:
1. It idles kind of rough at around 600RPMs. It should be at more like 800RMPs (says Jeff@I.B.). But its a real bad idle... when I let off the gas, it drops downt to 500 or below sometimes.. almost like it is going to stall, then it rebounds and holds fairly steady around 600 or so. But I'm going to have to try to take care of that.
2. I need to adjust my ignition timing to 13 degrees after Top Dead Center for now until I get it tuned (says Jeff@I.B.) I know how to do it. But with my car, I'm not 100% sure how to know what the timing is set at. The only mark I can see on my crank pully lip is one white mark (which I believe to be the TDC mark). I can't see any others. So I'm not sure how far way from the TCD mark the little indicator on the plastic guard should be. Any advice, suggestions, ideas?
3. My power steering is.... FIXED [edit]
4. Also, there is a slight 'whine' or 'whistle' when the car is in 5th gear. But only when the clutch is ingaged. Advice, suggestions, ideas?
Oh, and one other thing.... are those spark plugs ruined? Or can they be cleaned up? If they can, how/what do you use to clean them up? And is there anything else I should worry about since the plugs where so bad from the engine running so rich? Again... I didn't actaully drive it... it just idled for about 25-30 minutes.
Thanks!
And thanks to everyone who has helped me out so far!!
