I am very doubtful that you can hit a 12.9 run or quicker with 205-215 whp and slicks. Even with the perfect launch, that's simply not enough power and torque to get you from point A to point B that quickly. My guess is mid 13s at best.
I remember seeing a video......
you guys have no respect for a person, he will get what he wants for the car, if your not intrested dont post shitty *** remarks in his thread.
Gotta little sleeper r there man, looks stock lol

the guy has a very nice 97 with alot of nice work done to it as well... that is too bad for the salvage title and hope he gets a good deal, I sympathsize his woes.
For those who doubt the power, and remember this guy is just speculating, also remember that the Toda B's make between mid 180's to mid 190's with stock compression, this guy has 12.1-1 Pistons and the toda B's have shown to break the 200 WHP mark when combined with tuning and higher compression.
Mid to low 13's with his setup are very possible on slicks, the right track conditions and the right driver, so high 12's might be optimistic but, who knows, anything could happen with the right combination. The R is not really a Drag car anyways, I say someone here n the NE buy that thing and make it into a Track *****, bust her cherry in the twisties.
It is a very nice car indeed and a sleeper 97 at that, Good Job! Sorry you have to give it up but, at least it was recovered and you were able to rebuild it. So many of these in the Tri-state just go away and NEVER get found. Hell, we thought there were NO 97's left in NY.
Funny how everyone jumps down this guys throat and noone has seen a dynograph or a time slip or nothin... The guy needs help and decided to advertise here since he thought one of his brethren might be interested.
Good luck,
A.
For a little support. I ran a 13.20 in the 1/4 with 206 whp. With a better driver and better prepped car, it would have made it to the 12s...

200+WHP is all you need to run 12.90's in a DC2 (slicks, weight reduction, the right clutch and the right driver
)
If a 175 whp ITR can run 13.8 (like I've witnessed personally) then a 215 whp car will bust a 12.90 with relative ease. I think lots of folks underestimate the ITR's straight line ability. I have friends here in NYC that have wickedly fast ITR's that look just like Flex's car (stock). There's a 500+whp Turbo '98 CW in the Bronx that will absolutely obliterate 99% of the cars on the road. Vettes, Vipers & Porsches included.

this car was never raced... i didnt even break in the motor... the car has no insurance and no registration, the new owner of the car would be breaking in the car for me... the car isnt tuned, and it was never dragged. the car sat in my backyard for a while till i reached my goal of all the parts i wanted in it.
i believe H-PIMP so my car. i also said 20,000 i already got an offer for 17k. salvaged title doesnt mean anything to me.. if i see a car i really like and it runs smooth with no problems, there is a possibility i would buy it. i have yet to see another 97 itr in nyc. why must you guys knock my post

It doesnt mean anything to you but it means a lot to future buyers as well as insurance companies. They dont readily insure salvaged title'd cars. I dont think they are knocking your post, just stating facts. Good luck with your sell
low 13 - high 12's i think not.. just cuz its a type-r doesnt mean it's fast.. my pal with a turbo GSR putting out WELL over 215 WHP does not even break into the 12's.. so uhh.. yah.. I think he ran a low 13.. but he has close to 300 whp.. running 1 bar
