SMSP aka David @ SMS is  OR "I just got a resonator put in my 2.5in exhaust..."
Well I've had Cliff's (RStoR's old roomate) old 2.5" mandrel bent piping + n1 turbo can (80mm inlet) and a test pipe for a while now. This **** is LOUD AS ****.
Not quite as loud as open header - but damn close. It's like running open header out the back of the car pretty much.
So after IMing back and forth with SMSP, I took his advice and had a 22" x 2.5"id magnaflow resonator welded in. Fitment is good. I'll take some pics soon. This **** is still loud although it quieted down quite a bit. I also ordered a silencer for the n1 turbo can, so that should help put my R back to "date mode" status again.
Anyway, I just wanted to say
and thanks again to Dave.
I have never ordered anything from him, yet I can't count on two hands how many times he's helped me with advice through the years. He's taken much time and patience to answer questions, help me out, and generally provide the best customer service all around!
This is an unsolicited
from a happy, soon-to-be customer. (Hurry up and put those downpipes into production Dave, and then I'll be a customer for real!)

-the r0cker, who had to wear earplugs on the way to the local muffler shop, but thankfully won't need them on the way home.

P.S. Dave - I found the flanges and bend for the wastegate and will bring them down tonight or so. Ed
All of the 4" x 22" bodied 2-1/2" magnaflow resonators are 2 piece, the 18" long ones are not. We used one of the 22" long ones on a 230+whp B20VTEC and it didn't seem to hurt performance.

.....for future reference:
the p/n is 10436, and it's 28" total length, although it's only 22" resonator. 4" thick, and 2.5" inner diameter. Flow rates are within 4 CFM (543 vs 549) of a straight pipe measured at 28" water pressure (1psi) according to magnaflow's box... Apparently they tested that for p/n 11216... I dunno what the difference is...

"Because diameter and length does make a difference"
