Default b20z/vtec stright pipeing?

sup ya, dont mean to offend all the green peace people on this board. Anyways, 6 months later after buying my teg I bought from some guy who did a bootleg *** job on the b20 install, I finally got all the bugs worked out and my car finally runs and feels like its where it should be considering my setup(read my sig). So now its on to the performance aspect, so my next step is the exhaust. Im thinking header back 2.5 straight piped.

First question is, I daily drive this car so who has a similar setup and how loud would this be? Anyway to fool the cops?

Second, my header is a 2.25, should I do 2.25 piping?

it will be too loud with a straight pipe.. even a silencer wont make it quiet enuff.. i suggest leave the cat. in, but 2 1/2 piping all the way back with a cat. that has a 2 1/2 inlet and outlet would work.. that should keep it quiet enuff..

it really depends on what kind of exhuast you will be running. i have an apex'i n1 and i run straight pipe. it is very loud but you can make it quieter. i have run it with built gsr, built ls/vtec with jdm itr piston and a mugen header and it was not to loud. with the n1 you can get a silencer if it is too loud. and as far as the size of the exhuast i would go with 2.25 if you do not plan to do a lot more to your engine but if you are going to go crazy with it then go with the 2.5

Im looking for a deep sound I cant stand that anoying rice rocket chicken screaming sound when you floor it. Which is what it sounded like on my civic ex and a 5zigen cannon ball. Is that because I ran without a resonator. How does that apexi sound. I seen on Ebay you can get an N1 style muffler cheap anyone with an Idea of how that sounds stright pipped. Im trying to have my cake and eat it too you know!!

Look into Thermal Research products. Most of them have a good deep sound without sounding like a fart can, and they post decent horsepower gains.
