Default Exhaust Cutout Installed w/pics

Going to running open header from now on at the track. I opened it in front of my apartment and drove it back and forth a couple of times. Insanely loud. Only able to take it a bit past 4500rpm. I can't imagine how loud it'll be takin it to 8200rpm. I'll be going to Palmdale tomorrow night...so I'll see if my times improve or not. Here's two pics that are not of the best quality:

Hey... Looks good... nice job!

What size is the cutout and what size is your piping? Where'd ya pick it up?

Good luck at the track.

2.5'' cutout, 2.5'' piping

Header is a JG Modified by IB (2.5'' collector)

Muffler is some stock looking pos I had the shop put on..probably 2'' or something. I used to have a straight thru muffler but it was too loud. Now, it's quiet like stock. True...it'll kill some power...but at the track...I'll be running open anyways. I could care less if Im losing hp on the street since cops won't hassle me.

Oh, and I ordered it from summittracing. $26 +tax

i had one, it sucked when it was closed, meaning it wasnt the same as before cutout install

That would make sense cause now there is a "detour" in the air passage. You're creating turbulence in tyour piping, but who cars on the street right

Ive seen this before on I think Mista Bone's car but i always wondered, When it is closed, do you think that air is going into that small section and then creating back pressure or anything along those terms?? I dunno it's probally a stupid newbie question lol...

anyways...Looks good

Sup man. Nah...I don't feel a difference when it's closed and from when the cutout wasn't installed. I do have a restrictive muffler on now for noise purposes...i feel the top end lost from that

You mean to say you did not take it to Redline your first time testing it? I used to drop my cat sometimes when I was bored just to get the loud sound and scare the neighborhood kids..
