zc pistons in a d16z6
it only raises the compression 1/2 a point in an otherwise internally stock engine. Mill the head and thinner head gasket and your compression can easily reach 12:1
i did calcs today using sonny chart and c speeds tool
zc/a1 pistons (big dome version) in a z6 yield 12:1 with no mill using the stock z6 or y8 headgasket

maybe the people you talked to were getting confused with the a6 pistons which some people use..or they meant the 86-87 pistons.
with a z6, it is 12:1 though.

Any guess on hp after the pistons are installed....with i/h/e?
Any guess on hp after the above and a cam and tuning?

all motor sohc making big power = big cam
since u are going the vtec route (most of the fastest sohc's ive seen are non) id recommend the crower stage 3 cam with valve springs...
youd have 12:1 compression and with a cam like that i see no reason why u cant put down 160+. builthatch made 164 with a milder cam. jg made 160 on a 11:1 street sohc vtec.
did i mention SRR makes a 4.929 final drive for the sohc vtec tranny? 160+ with that tranny =
one fast *** sohc in the right car
just make sure you clay the engine because the a1 pistons are non vtec, which means the valve reliefs in the piston will not match the valve location in the head
u need to go to http://www.dseries.org and stop asking these questions here, all u will get is people telling u to swap swap swap.

ok...one last question...I have some cx pistons too...would it be faster with the greddy turbo kit I have with stock pistons or the cx ones? I know the zc's are too high of compression for a turbo application. Are the z6 and the cx pistons the same? I just cant make up my mind on what to do. Any advice?
