The Mocal cooler is high end. You can't go wrong with that.

Clendaniel has one of the niciest setups I've seen. It's not braided line or anything, but he set it up with a remote filter and everything bolted to the front cross member. I wonder if I can find his pictures and steal them for this thread.

I guess it is braided.

That last one was based on a B&M cooler. This one is a real Mocal cooler. It's from BDBs' car from Ottawa. The silver metal hose holder thing is a the oil filter and thermostat which is a good idea to have.

What does having that extra length of hose do to oil pressure? That has always been one of my main concerns with setups like that.

my pressure sender for the oil pressure guage is tapped into the bottom of the filter housing....I didn't notice any change in pressure, it's still over the spec given in the helms manual. The biggest difference is in oil capacity, with the motor totally empty it took a hair over 8qts...takes a tad over 6 on a regular change.

Damn I want an oil cooler. Mocal setup would be sweet. Don't have enough cash saved up for it yet though. $500 for an oil cooler setup seems worth it to me for turbo preludes. Did you install that yourself Clendaniel (I may have asked you this before)?

I first misunderstood this, I think he means it now takes 6 qts during an oil change, but took 8 for the first time he filled the motor up. 1qt extra would make sense for the given amount of braided line he's running.

Yeah, I did it all...most of the money's in the an fittings and line. You weren't dreaming when you said it wasn't stainless originally. When I rebuilt the motor I decided to upgrade it and my fuel lines to stainless as I never liked the idea of my engine oil routed through plain rubber hose and brass barbs. I got most of the pieces through amstreetrod.com. He's pretty quick and is straight with you about when you'll get things if it isn't on hand. I think I said in a post on p-o.com that there are a couple things I'd have done differently and may change in the future. The biggest one was using a 90 degree on the left end of the cooler and then moving the 180 to output behind the filter as it would look cleaner and eliminate the loop. The only problem is I'd already drilled and tapped for the pressure sender which now blocks that path so I'll leave it as is. I'm thinking of swapping the cooler from the B&M unit to the Mocal...no big deal, my fittings will thread into the mocal. The adapters won't change as I can't see the mocal ones being any better and the rest of the system is all stainless and an fittings so they're fine too.

Yeah...it's only another quart or so. You figure there's about 10-12ft of an-10 line and a cooler added to the system.

Greddy makes one for the 5th gen? Is the Jackson Racing oil cooler any good? They have a kit for the 5th gen.
