Help!!!! Engine making odd noise after headgasket incident
Ok...My headgasket went on me and I got that all fixed now, I had the head resurfaced and all that jazz...but I got the engine all back together now and there is a loud kind of mettallic knocking coming for the bottom end...was it possible that I have bent a con rod or messed up a wrist pin when the coolant got into the cylinders? I did drive the car for a little ways after the headgasket went cuz I didnt realise it had gone....TIA
Oh this is on a ZC turbo'd engine
Oh and also...the noise goes away if I am not under load (ie coasting down a hill in gear, as soon as I step on the gas the noise comes back

ok...could you (or someone) elaborate a little more? more syptoms, reason it happens and how to possibly confirm it....thanks
I agree with rod bearing. Did you have intermix? Oil and coolant mixed. When an engine gets intermix, its common to spin bearing shortly there afterward. Change them if you have/had intermix. When I had a spun bearing, I could feel it in the clutch pedal when it was on the floor. Over time it'll get worse and do more damage so figure it out soon. Try to verify which cylinder its on. Pull the plug wires one by one until the noise goes away. Confirm with eyes, remove oil pan and more.
thanks...but when I drained my oil there was no coolant in it so there was no intermixing when the gasket went.....what did your clutch pedal feel like?
