civic headlights are terrible period.. you will never get a good beam out of them.. halogen or HID.. all HID does it put 2 bright spots on the ground and blind everyone else.. trust me its not worth it.. however..if you're handy, and got time..you can do what this person did.. its pretty difficult..but 185% worth it..
basically, he/she found 2 lexus HID housings on ebay..1 side from an LS400, one side from an IS300.. with ballasts, and bulbs.. for $120 total.. cut the civic reflectors out, and installed the lexus ones.. so now for $120 he/she has OEM Lexus HID on his/her civic..

enjoy.. another cool thing you could use, is the new Infinity Q45 HID lights..if you can find them..they will fit in your civic housing, and the light output is AMAZING..
so not only do these OEM retrofits work 6 times better, they're usually cheaper than buying some ugly 6000K kit as well.. good luck.

I've owned "sharkeye" projectors for a long time.
I recently refitted them with an H3 HID conversion, and I've been quite pleased. Have you had any experience with that approach?
However, if I had it to do over again, I might try this approach, but I wouldn't want to do it to my primary headlight.

One mis-exposed picture with flash blocked:
As you can see, the cutoff point is quite good. The beam spread is also quite good. At the front of the car (below the visual lines from inside the car), the illumination starts as two projected beams, but these are not visible from inside the car (failed to get that).
Overall, I'm still very pleased. Although I don't think the quality is as good as OEM HID (not retrofits, but in the original housings), its 100X better than the shitty H3 projector, and certainly better than the OEM headlights, but I can't say 100X better (I can't remember back that far).
