im planning on taking the a/c out of my hatch ASAP... Does anyone have any schematics or better yet adobe acrobat files on this topic? and if anyone has done this previously what weight reduction and hp gains can i expect (5-7 i heard?).. Much appreciation for any help, mike d

 

lessen the tensioner, remove belt, unbolt, unplumb...pretty straight forward.

 

I took the A/C out of my Del SOL.....lets just say you wont feel a differnce such as going from a 1.5 non vtec to an R.....but I guess in the long run it helps out....I went from a 16.3 to a 15.5 after taking that out, a few minor weight reductions, and suspension work...one thing You make sure you dont do, when disconnecting the main line from the pump, dont stand over it, lots of freon's gonna shoot all over the place(mine was empty, but...) good luck...

BTW you won't see ANY HP gains because you don't gain HP from removing your A/C unless yours is stuck on!

 

thats cool man, but i need to know where the tensioner belt is and everything... If somebody has schematics that would be wonderful..
