JDM cluster question.
Hey guys, i drive a 98 GSR and just bought a JDM ITR cluster. I believe the cluster is from a 2000 or 2001 because it has the little key icon and only had 16k KM. Well my friend and i installed it today and both the temp and fuel gauges wouldn't work. the temp stayed at C and the fuel gauge went from me having a 1/4 of a tank to having a full tank. Then we tested the cruise control since the light on that wouldn't go off either. once cruise was engaged the Maint Req light came on.
My question is, could it be messed up because of the different year or is it busted? The guy i bought it from says he has a 94 and says it worked fine.
If it's because of the year, is there anyone in So Cal who would help me by trying it out on their 00/01 ITR. Thanks ahead of time.

its not busted......
I had similar problem with mine....the wiring is just different
Follow every wire lead...and firgure out what each wire goes to on your stock gauge cluster......then compare it to the new one you have.....you will have to switch some wires around.....
I was freaking out too when i first plugged mine in...but a little patience...and some wire splicing and you should be good.

Thanks for the advice but I tried out switching the green circuit piece as many other members suggested and now everything works perfect. My fuel went back down to where it should be, the temp gauge works and the cruise control light isn't stuck on. Thanks for your advice anyway. Now i don't have to search for a new one and bother the guy i bought this cluster from about returning it (which he was willing to accept)
