Default lost motion assembly

If I'm installing ITR cams and valvesprings into a GSR, do you need the LMAs too? And what exactly are the LMAs and what do they do?

If my car will still work, what is the advantage to the R ones? What exactly do the LMAs do and why are they a needed upgraded?

The Type R ones are stiffer. The Vtec rocker uses it as a valve spring of sorts so that the vtec rocker stays somewhat aligned with the other rockers so that vtec can engage correctly. Or at least that is my understanding/logic of it.

The Type R has higher lift cams and a few more hundered rpms. so stiffer ones were in order. Honda wouldn't do it if it werent needed.

thanks for the info. Looks like Acura wants about $30 each for them so that equals $240. Jeez...
