Same thing, Skunk2 one is modled after ITR one for GSR's and such.

for better gains on a manifold would be JG but for bes results on a n/a set up is best if engine is modified

What kind of gains have you seen with a JG intake manifold on a N/A car?

Same thing, modified to fit GSR. Altough not direct bolt on.

http://www.importbuilders.com has seen very nice gains from the jg manifold installed. Please correct me if I am wrong but is the ITR manifold a b16 manifold which has been port and polished or are there other things changed between the two?

I know a guy in Poland which has JUN III cams, etc and tried a JG Victor X manifold and he gained NOTHING over the stock mani.

No, the ITR manifold is a completely different casting from the B16 manifold. It has wider, shorter runners and a much larger plenum. And it's not polished.

Basically you dont want the manifold to be smooth at all. This is due to the fact that turbulent air from a stock ITR manifold is the way that Honda designed it. I am pretty sure that it picks up either more speed or more energy as it enters the motor.

If you ever feel the inside of the manifold it has very small pits or bumps and they serve this purpose. The skunk is smooth and while it may allow a GSR motor to pick up HP I would stay with a stock ITR manifold for an R.

Plus, the bolt patterns are different so it would take some customization for a skunk to fit an R head.

Skunk 2 manifold for the GSR's rock....

especially if your running high compression and big cams and a 9000 RPM rev limit

I lost 10-15lbft across the board with the JG intake manifold.

ITR/Skunk2 is best for pretty much ALL NA applications.

For a manifold that says "makes power from 7000rpm to 10000 rpm" what do you expect. Saw it make impressive gains on turbo cars. Haven't heard of anyone using it for n/a apps. I compared an ITR and SKUNK2 for a PR3 head. Pretty much look idential other then the skunk2 is smooth inside that's it. Yes the skunk2 will bolt up to the itr head, same damn thing. there are 3 differen't models.

Not always the case. Don't forget that that only air travels through an ITR intake manifold and when travelling in a straight line air like smooth surfaces. When carrying gasoline in suspension a textured surface keeps the gas in suspension. Also, when negotiating bends a textured surface on the short radius may also help the air turn.

All I see inside a Type R manifold are a few casting imperfections and a sand cast surface, not Honda Magic.

BTW, I ported a GSR head last weekend and there were a lot of major casting and other imperfections from the factory valve seat work.

swirl for turbulance is needed for better air fuel mixture.
