Stock 5th gen shocks on 4th gen?
That's a positive
I have 2001 Prelude Shocks on my 96. You will just have to knock the bottom piece off your old ones with the brake line holders

Yes I'm pretty sure they'll fit. Well the 5th gen base on 4th gens. If you look on KYB's site, you'll see that the 5th gen shocks use the same part # as 4th gens.
i have h&r 4gen race springs on my 5g.
they still work even though the shop sold me the wrong ones. I'm thinking that the 5g base shocks will work on the 4g.

Yes, they will work fine. The only difference is the 4th gen front dampers have little brackets to hold the brakelines built into the shock body. The 5th gen dampers will not have these. So you'll just need some plastic zip ties or something similar to secure the brake lines onto the front shock bodies.

Like I said in my post above...we just grabbed a hammer and knocked the ring off and mounted them on the 5th gen shocks. The brake line holders are on the ring
