FS: Canadian 2001 Type R - 9000kms - some might be interested in this forum
I'm forced to sell my beloved ITR. Tuition is still unpaid for, and my financial situation has drastically changed. So it was a choice between school or the ITR. Common sense tells me that I'm making the right decision, but it hurts nontheless. Especially since I spent more time searching for one than actually owning one.
The car is an unmodified (never was) 2001 ITR. The car just passed the 9000km (~5000miles) mark - mileage is documented. It has spent more time sitting in the garage than actually being driven Yes, it has the red seats and they are flawless. Brand new tires (ecsta 712s) just installed. Why new tires after only 9k? Long story which I can share if you are really interested.
Car is located in Mississauga (Toronto). Asking price - CAD $28,500 or ~US$20,000. I have put it in Autotrader and it's coming out this Thursday (10th). I'm willing to work with a US buyer. Canadian buyers have the option of taking over the lease at $455 + tax/month.
I don't really have pictures, as I didn't take many. But if someone wants them, I am sure to get some ASAP.
Thanks,
Paul M

Please include the story of the tire...I hope nothing accident-related.
Are you saying that the car is still on lease?

hmmm... I can't hold my breath, but I'm waiting to hear from Insurance anyday on how much they will give me for my car (hatchback) that got totaled (not my fault). If they give me a reasonable settlement I might be interested!
I'm in the US
Check your PM
Thanks

The car was never involved in an accident.
Tires- tires must have been heated up just before left for storage (8 months) something must have happened to them, as when I got the car, paint had peeled off the garage floor. There was always a spot on the tires that wouldn't wear out the same way as the rest of the tire. Sort of like a flat spot. Steering wheel would shake. After getting a balance on all four tires with no luck, I decided to get new tires. The new tires are still in perfect shape. There is still some hairs on them left.
As far as salt and rust is concerned. The car was never driven in Winter. I wasn't planning to do it either. Underbody looks like the day it left the dealership.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

I just purchased an 01 CW ITR w/ redseats from Quebec
and imported into the US. It was well worth it, but I did have some obstacles:
Honda Canada Finance will not let a someone buy out your lease. The leasee had have an Acura dealer take posession and then I bought it from the dealership. This worked out for the best. The dealer took care of all paperwork and even gave me a transporter plate to drive across border.
I was also eligible for a refund on CDN GST tax that was paid. You'll need two original copies of the sale contact. One for CDN gov't and the other for DMV....at east in NY. Not all dealerships will do this for free because there really is nothing in it for them. The dealer performed the deal because they thought the leasee would buy another car from them.
Hook up with an Importer. They will take care of all the paperwork and provide what is neccssary to register in the states. Going through customs was a breeze. It cost 2.71% in tax in duty of the sale price and $ 450 importer fee.
All of this is well worth it. I would do it again for a CDN ITR

Nobody wants a virgin ITR?? Again, I'm willing to work with a US buyer, but by no means am I desperate to get rid of it. Price is more than fair for a car in this shape.

I don't expect anyone to lend me any money for any period of time, so I'm confused as to where you came up with that idea.
I can get the money to buy the car outright, and sell it to a US buyer. As long as the prospective buyer is serious, it can all be arranged with minimum hassle.
If any one has any questions, feel free to contact me through email or post here.

Here are some pics I took today.
Sorry for the size. I have a lot more, but I thought this is enough for those that were just curious. If you want to see more, send me an email.
