Default Some pics of my SMIC project

Hey guys just wanted to post some pics for people who wanted to do the 1st gen DSM SMIC on a 88-91 Civic/CRX. First thing, I dont think this would fit with a stock bumper, it just squeezed in with the Wings west bumper. Next the piping is pretty off at the bottom, Im actually getting some pipes welded to make this work, the top pipe fits perfect though. Also Im only about 4-5 inches from the ground with the New setup Ah well here is some pics of the progress...

Niceeeeee.... very good and smart decision. that intercooler should hold you up to 8-9psi. nice car, setup and detailed pix. keep up the good work.
*did you notice any differece in performance yet? Keep us posted.

Very nice Eric... I see you decided to try to make it fit. It should definitely help out the efficiency of the turbo and cool down the air.

actually..after looking @ it..my only problem w/ this ic is that it sits too low to the ground. aren't you worry that if you accidently go thru. a ditch..your pipping's gone

I'm not too big a fan of the "side mount" look, but it seems pretty nice. Good job!

Thanks for the feedback guys. The IC pipes/cooler are about 5 inches from the ground maybe a bit less. My Exhaust piping is actually only 3 1/2 inches from the ground. I may need to raise the car a little up front just in case. I know what you mean if I hit a ditch its not going to be pretty. The one pic makes it look like the IC is sticking out from the bottom alot but on the pic Im actually laying on the ground looking up. I havent taken a spin yet with the IC, getting a pipe welded tommorow. Hoping it will be on the road in a few days

That sucks, I was thinking we could hook up one time and go race some where, I will be going to school in pittsburg next year.

I have a 4th gen as well, putting in my turbo set up in a few months. SOHC vs DOHC!
