Scraping sound when clutch fully depressed!
How do I adjust my clutch so that it wont happen when I fully depress the clutch? I recently had a new clutch installed... the installer had adjusted the clutch for me already so that the scraping wouldn't happen. But all of a sudden, it just started happening again. It sounds pretty damn scary!
How do I adjust the clutch?! Is it the pedal height I need to adjust, or the pedal engagement point (I'm guessing the engagement point??) All I know it's somewhere underneath the dash/steering column.

Is this scraping sound coming when the clutch starts to engage in first? If so, I'm having a similar problem. Anyone know what it could be?
woah what an old post?
i actually fixed the problem. you need to adjust the push rod (shorten it) for the clutch underneath the dash.
get a wrench and a set of pliers..loosen the locknut, and twist the spline to shorten it. then make sure the clutch still fully engages/disengages w/o making any scraping sounds..and good to go!

my clutch makes that sound when its all the way pressed to the floor.. i back off of it like an inch or so and no sound. plus when its all the way pressed in its hard to put it into gear, and when i back out it slides right in. some bleeding is required i beleive.. if not, the i will adjust the pedal

the noise you are hearing is the throwout bearing being pressed way too far. The clutch fingers can actually go too far in and start scraping the clutch disc spring housing. Someone showed pics of this aftermath a while ago. It's a common problem with exedy racing clutches (esp with itr owners for some reason)... the simple solution as already mentioned is to adjust the clutch pedal push length.
