- Sunscreen
- food (if you don't want to buy everything on-site)
- I wouldn't consider going without my cooler w/drinks
Maybe:
- Sunglasses?
- quart of oil (in case you burn any)
- brake fluid (in case you need/want to bleed your brakes)
- It's really nice to have at least part of your stuff in a big rubbermaid type container. It's easy to carry and a dry place if it rains.
I bought a full set of rotors when I started doing this as well, but then decided i didn't want to lug them around and have left them at home through 5 events now. I would consider them optional, especially until you get some experience and start really braking hard.

-Painter's tape
-zip ties
-air pump or air tank (since you didn't list it)
-water, water and more water (don't dehydrate yourself)
-extra food incase the food court is closed
-extra clothes (the time I was there it was freezing in the morning and warm in the afternoon or you just want to be fresh when you go home)
-make sure you fill up on gas before you get to the track
And most of all HAVE FUN!

I only read through the other posts quickly, but if not listed yet some gloves (mechanix and/or disposable) are also helpful.
A $15 tire inflator that works from your cigarrette lighter.
I haven't done this but I would consider a spare wheel and tire if you can afford it. Some people will change to their race set up at the track and have the street wheels as back up. No sure how common that is. Only one time I saw a Porsche parked with his small spare on. Obviously he didn't run for his last run.
Torque wrench.

Regarding Air - since you're a first-timer.
I have not been to a track yet that didn't have an air hose on-site. For some, not having to drive over to the hose is nice. For me, not having to put one more thing in my car is nicer. I just didn't want you to think that this was mandatory.
**and yes, I will have to go begging the day the track's compressor dies.**

Just to add, check this site out. It gives a good once over of the basics of track driving, from flags to performance driving techniques. A little off topic but beneficial none the less.

One more thing to suggest , put a little anit-seize on all of the lug nuts. The huge amount of heat generated by the brakes can cause you to strip a lug nut when you change the tires. Or you'll be posting Monday morning (like I had to) on how to replace the stripped lug nuts. After the weekend you can remove the anti-seize if you want to.
I like to toot my horn and stand on my soap box about this issue, because the $1 prevention is so much cheaper than the $100 problem. It also happened to me 3x.
a past post regarding the problem you can avoid:

Oh yeah, don't forget a long sleeved shirt and pants. You can't go out on track without it.
Are changing your brake pads necessary for your first event? Ditto with rotors?
As long as your rotors are in good shape (not warped/shuddering, not cracked, not too thin) they should be fine.
Ill be at my first HPDE at vir in two weeks and just wanted to confer with you guys on what i need to bring....

There's a thread posted by 'projected' about the Lime Rock HPDE on Nov 11th somewhere in this forum. A search result should find it for you. Tons of useful info there for any HPDE.
