It does sound as if he's a little too attached to his car though.
To a lot of young people, an ITR and the work done to it is the most important single accomplishment and possession in their lives, and the friends they've made in furthering the project could be the most important people in their lives.
This makes the theft of an ITR a bigger deal, emotionally, than it would otherwise be.

In the event of theft, it would be the principle of the theft that bothers me, not so much the car itself. Well, I'd also be annoyed by the fact that I'd have to deal with my insurance company.
Seriously. I am trying to build my confidence on myself. Not my car or other possesions. Rather some permenant possession such as knowledge, skills...etc.
If my R ever part with me and I don't get to play with cars anymore. I will feel truely empty and meaningless in life.

I understand that, and yet maybe some of us need to realize that it's only a material possession. Sure, you should value the relationships you have with others who have similar interests as you, but never forget that an ITR is only a car.

Well, me being young maybe I don't have the same outlooks you guys do, but for me, the car is the single most expensive thing i own, so of course i'd want to take care of it
Well, I'm not so young, and my car is still the most expensive thing I own

But what was mentioned about developing friendships and relationships based on these cars is true - I've met a great group of people just by having a Type R and interacting with people on this board. And now even though my R has been sold, they're still around. Good stuff, that.
We-todds own

Truthfully, i know there are people out there that do this kinda chit. Whoever stole that R should be shot. Anyone who does that kinda **** should be shot. I say this because i love my R and i know how much the other R owners out there feel.
I think every R owner out there should copy down all the numbers on their cars ( IE Vin, block numbers and stuff). I myself put a special mark on some place on my block and head so identify my motor even if the numbers get sanded off. I know it doesn't help but if i see my motor in anyone elses car, they're going to die. Hope she's alright.
Ken
Who hates seein **** like this go down cause stupid broke *** idiots can't buy their **** legit and make their cars fast. They gotta use other peoples parts. Broke and cheap *** ****. Touch my R and i will personally kill the person that stole it and their family so they can share the same fate.

Do you really think you'd do what you claim you would?
Would you throw your life away over the theft of a car?
