Need an igniter... where can i get one?
Depending on engine-your local HOnda dealer should have it in stock for $75-$90. You will have to take the distributor out to replace it.
How hard is it to do? I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to working on cars but I've never gone into a distributor yet. Any hints or advise for me?

take the distributor off the car to get to the ignitor.
take off the dist. cap. there should be a brown colored device with 4 wires plugging into it. that is the ignitor. take the 2 philips screws that are on the outside of the dist. off to free the ignitor. pull the wires and replace.

when the ignitor goes bad..wat happens? becuz my cluster gauge needle goes wild..can it be the problem there? when i hooked up my shift light to the blue wire off the dist. it lights as the needle passes the certain rpm. even when im warmin up my car, the needle goes wild. and when i drive..its even worst. i cant even tell when its at 3k to shift. i just shift randomly. or should i just change the whole dist?

i just put new one in. dont have to take off dizzy just cap and rotor. the connections are **** and are causing my car to die constantly. tach needle jumps around like crazy. re did connections. next step is to re wire. my car is peaced out at the moment
They sell them, thats where I got mine. Its listed as ignition control or some wacky thing like that, just look through their ignition list till you see something that cost about 80-90$.

My car dies when it's cold like that too.... just started when the igniter started to act up.
I lucked up today while at the boss man's brother's car lot. There was an 88 civic 4 door with a boat anchor for an engine. I got the distributor for FREE!!! Now all I need is time. Thanks for your help guys.
