Default Hammerhead Aviation Carbon Fiber Hoods!

Any one ever bought these? They are supposedly of the highest quality available. One guy told me the quality is superior to Benen and BodyKitsNW, but that because it's a new company, they're intro price is very low..

The pics are pretty convincing. They come in two weaves, a standard one and the H2 weave which is supposed to stand out more. They're only $350+shipping.

Here's a thread from jdmcivic.com: http://www.jdmcivic.com/forums/showt...ght=hammerhead

I can't find a website for them, or a place to order from, but I need a hood asap so, im looking to see if anyone on here has had one.

Is that the H2 weave, because it stands out plenty?

I dont really pay attention to cf hoods so i cant comment on the quality of the weave but the underside is clean. I usually notice the bottoms when the hoods up and that one looks clean.

From what I've heard, these hoods don't go too well with cars that have motor swaps.

The higher b series motors (not sure about b16s) will hit that little Hammerhead tag on the bottom side of the hood.

Looks like a nice hood. I have heard before compare them to Benen but I could not tell you if that is true.

stock hoods weigh like somewhere around the 40 lb range. but for a CF hood it is about 7 lbs too heavy. most others are like 9.

If the weave wasn't important, they would not put so much effort forth into producing a high quality weave structure. We all understand you do not care for CF, great. Personally I think you do it just to be different from everybody else, your way of making a statement I guess. In all honesty, do what you want. It's just that you go as far to demean someone who choses to keep the CF in the natural form. I think you should find something else to be different about, go dye your hair black or something.

I guess I'm gonna have to go with someone else. Cus I got a b18c1 in my EG, and I need a hood that clears my motor.

EDIT: Does anyone make full race hoods? The style that only have a skin with no shell and you use 4-hood pins to keep the hood down. I heard they have ones that weigh like 5lbs. My hood is gonna get painted the color of the car just so everyone knows.

hahah.. man.. i never had anything against you, but you guessed wrong on this one.. i could give a **** less about being "different" .. remember, i drive a widebody integra pal.. .. i just never liked the way a mismatching body panel looks.. CF weave or not.. i just never liked it.. and i dont "demean" someone for it.. i just ask them why.. why do they like it? because they think its JDM? or because they actually think its CLEAN to have a hood that doesnt match the car.. if i wanted to be different id fix up a pontiac sunfire or something..

I totally agree with the way the black hood clashes with the look of the car. The difference is I don't tell everone, that's all. I respect you for your honesty and ability to speak your mind. But, I know that you and Jared jock those old *** panda looking Toyota's with black hoods and wheels. See, I hate those cars...But you guys like them. What's my point, I'm not sure. Just wanted to let you know that I wasn't picking beef with you buddy.

hey hey.. beef was the last thing on my mind pal.. and i dont like panda hachi's... i dont really like anything black on a car other than weather stripping and tires .. but yeah.. i tend to like the hachis that are painted all one color.. the panda stuff just kinda reminds me of a lower model car with black moldings and bumpers n stuff.. thats all.. i never understood the "black pieces on a car makes it look aggressive" .. just not my "steez" son..

its not only CF hoods i dont like.. i also dont like unpainted moldings, mirrors, etc.. but i know those things come stock on some cars..and kids didnt go out and purposly buy black door handles or something.. well..some people dont paint their spoon mirrors, and i hate that equally..

i covered that.. most CF hoods dont match black cars either.. they usually have more of a gray tone..or another color..which stands out from the black.. which IMO, doesnt look good.
