Anyone know where to get these floor mats? I was told they were pnly avalible in europe. they are left hand drive mats but way different than us mats. I have seen these in person and they are all foam on the back and jet black. They do not have the stripes on them like us do and they are way lighter. My friend had a set and he told me he got them from a guy in europe but he did not have anymore.

those are 2001 itr mats. i have a set just like those in my 2001 type R. 2000 itr mats have the stripey things running through them.

so there's no rubber section under the pedal area like the pre 2001 mats? sounds sorta flimsy... like they were trying to cut costs? no rubber backing, too? foam? how do they stand up to wear? sorry for the questions... just sorta surprised at the big diff in quality from the previous years mats.

 

Correct these mats are super light and they have no rubber backing they are just foam on the back. They are also darker black than the carpet. When I say black these things are not charcoal they are jet black. they soubd cheezy but trust me when I tell you they are bad as hell. Very nice quality, as far as I know they are still holding up fine he has had for a couple of years. You have probably seen some of his posts before (Kenji) he used to be on the board alot.

 

yup! They decided to make them standard in all new 2001 ITR's, so they had to be cheaper.

 

No...UKDM "super light foam" mats are different than the USDM mats. My mats have rubber on the back of them, not foam.

You can get both styles of the floormats at andhmotorsports.com. I inquired about them a few weeks ago, and I believe the 98 style mats were $100, and the solid black mats were around $200. I've been thinking about picking up a set just to have for down the road. I figure they're only going to get harder to find.

No man I live in Malta. But I will check with the local Honda dealer although accessories are very rare here

 

That's the same mat I have in my car...came stock with the 2001.
