This is my first post here but I have been reading for about a week. I just got my 97 GSR and the maintenance light is coming on when I first start the car and flashes for the ten seconds.. now I know the manual says that maintenance is due but what does it actually mean like what type of maintenance? I am going to flush all the fluids in the car and do the 120k mile check up on it very soon cause its got 118k on it and I like to flush and put all new fluids in whenever I buy a used car…but what does that light normally mean? Just like oil change or something or is it much more? The car is stock for now thanks for the help

I comes on like every 7.5k miles(I think, it may be like 5k) or so, you have to reset it, theres a little button/switch located beneath the drivers side kick panel(just beneath the steering wheel, slightly off-center) that you just hold down (after starting the car) until the light goes off. Its just a reminder for oil changes and such, doesnt actually point out anything in particular. When it is reset it will of course go off again after the next mileage interval. Enjoy
