ok, heres the deal: no one anywhere near here can do mandrel bends, the only bends they can do are the press bends that press the pipe in(not crimp but similar) that makes the piping id smaller for bends. I want a 2.5" exaust with muffler, but since no one can mandrel bend, im thinking i could go with 2.75" piping, and still be ok, because the bends decrease the I.D. by .5 or less, and then connect it to a 2.5" or 2.75" muffler. i figure this would cost less than ordering all the mandrel prebends and having a muffler shop weld them together for me, thanks for any help

 

paul_vang did a 3" mandrel custom exhaust GB in the FI forum which i jumped on. It was through VRS, you might want to talk to him about a 2.5" custom exhaust and see if he can still get you one. i only paid 190 shipped for it and that was 3" so you're probably looking at a cheaper price...ohh it was steel too, the aluminum would of cost 110, this is minus the muffer/cat/and resinator...but it's mandrel hope this helps.

Get mandrel bends from JCWhitney.com - that should be MUCH cheaper than a custom mandrel exhaust.

2.5 piping.. has to put together by a "reputable - knows what they're doing" muffler shop. - i'd rather spend more money to have it put together right.

2.5 piping, depending on lenght/design, might make feedback noise - thats an advantage of buying a designed exhaust. its also going to be louder with 2.5 piping, you can use a straight through resonator - to slightly improve the sound.
