Default Exhaust Piping

Hey guys, after doing some research, ppl have convinced me to just get a muffler and do the custom piping. I have a 98 civic sohc and and was wondering what size piping I should go with? I want the most gain in the top end, so should I go with 2.5 or 2.75 inch piping, I've heard alot of different opinions, just wondering what you guys thought. Thanx.

You should just get a muffler and custom piping because you'll save A LOT of money. I have a 2.5 inch straight pipe with a Magnaflow muffler. I love it cause it looks stock.

think the perfect match would be the 2 1/4 in. piping..think anything larger at this point, unless ur going turbo would be overkill

How is the performance with the 2.5 inch piping?

2 1/4 or 2.5 inch piping should be good, but no larger than that.
