Default Finally got VAFC installed for the B's

Following up on this post right here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=270089 Today was the day we installed the VAFC and I can now go to bed tonight knowing that my car now idles like stock w/ the Spec B's installed. Installation of the VAFC was a breeze after we found the pinouts for the 00 ITR off of Apex'i's website. We adjusted the 1000 RPM fueling to -25 and everything is running fantastic. I'll post up some new pics of my R and of the VAFC installed sometime tomorrow. I just wanted to say thanks to this site and all its members for all the help you have given me and others just like me in various installs, product/company reviews, and deals on all kinds of aftermarket products. I don't know where I'd be right now w/o h-t in my life.....I this place. :tear:

How is the car running w/ the minor vafc tuning. Do you feel any more seat-of-the-pants power/torque, or is it too early to tell?

Honestly, we didn't even mess w/ anything else besides the idle issue. Everything else is set at default parameters. That's not going to be touched until I get my *** (well, the R, actually ) to a dyno.....which may be as early as tomorrow. w00t w00t!

Damn. I have Idle problems also. Meeting up with a friend tomorrow who'll try leaning out on the bottom like you guys did to see if that'll smoothen out my Idle.

Don't be doubtful with anything at all. For my car being totally untuned at the moment, it sure is a blast to drive! If your only worry is the idle problem, don't let that stop you. I was a little worried at first about it. But after hearing from everyone on this board about what you have to do to correct it, I was confident that everything would work out, and it did.

Doh, I just saw that you said with OUT the VAFC....then it that case, yes, don't install the cams untill you have some kind of fuel control device. As I learned in my previous post, Spec B's do not operate well under a factory ECU. Hope this helps ya out.

This is strange, when i put my vafc to +24 that's when my idle for spec c feels like stock. if I put it in the minus, like minus -10 thats when it idles lumpy. What do you guys think the problem maybe?
