I know MistaBone has the Kaaz and breaka_1_9 uses the quaife. You may want to IM those guys and get their thoughts on it. I have a ZC with LSD, it just isn't installed yet.
I prefer the Quaife. I prefer this for only one reason....been there when the car made too much power....one 2nd gear burnout....bye bye Kaaz. Installed Quaife and no problems since. I dunno though for low power, Kaaz may be suffice. But then you have to have some Kaaz juice.

It depends on if the tranny is out of the car. It takes me about 10 minutes to open the trans and get the diff out of the trans. Then you still have to get the speedo gear off of the old diff and have new bearings pressed on the LSD. Then you have to install the ring gear on the LSD. Install back in the casing....checking the shim clearance. So, I would say be preparred to pay for around 1-2hrs of labor.
2 hours if you know what your doing!
alot longer if you don't
alot longer if you don't
i have the quaife LSD and love it. i haven't had any problems yet, but i still haven't auto-xed with it yet.
just one other thing. i have heard that the kaaz is the stronger of the 2 diffs. that is opposite of what blown90hatch posted...

Here's something to think about, when your comming around a corner and your inside wheel lifts off the ground with a quaife it will stop spining and try to go the opposite way like a open diff, a kaaz wil keep spinning the same way.

I plan on paying my mechanic to do this if I decide to get it done.
So which way is better?
so the kaaz in this aspect is better.
ZC LSD's aren't very plentyful anymore, so I wouldn't count on just picking one up just like that. Also, since they are clutch type and 10 years old they aren't likely to be in such good shape anymore. I've got a ZC LSD that I've had since '99 and it's ability to claw through corners is considerably diminished. I'm pulling it apart this winter to start the search for new clutches....so if anyone know's who or where to get them, please let me know.

Also, if you plan on drag racing, I would get the Kaaz up to a certain amount of power. Also, remember that you have to continually service the KAaz with their Juice.
Well I have a Kaaz and from what i have seen, it requires more maint' than a quaife. but i love mine. If you dont like to get your hands dirty then I would prob go with the quaife.
