Finally got the 2 bolts to line up, didnt know how, but it went in...One problem, my engine mounts are made by Hasport and crossmember by place racing. The new billet mounts were supposedly 1/2 an inch taller and now, the front mount that came with the new crossmember wouldnt line up. Anyone here had the same problem? I was even looking forward to having 4 mounts...
With urethane mounts like the Hasports, the front mount is totally worthless. it does not support wieght anyways, it just prevents the motor from rocking. With all the other mounts being urethane, I doubt the motor moves more than a couple of mm when you punch the gas. Save some weight adn don't worry about the front mount.
I've been running with 3 mounts for 6 months now and its great. I have the Prothane mount inserts and the motor does not budge.

yea seriously, the only way i can feel the engine movement is through the shifter when i'm applying hard tourqe in first and second gear and then its barely noticable. (though i'd kinda like a front mount too)

yeah, jdmhondaparts.com...I bought it there for $190 plus shipping. Thanks for the tips about the front mount. I didnt realize until we checked under the car that the 2 bolts holding my rear mounts were totally out...no wonder it rocks too damn bad. I can really see my shifter move when I apply gas...
So we did the crossmember, oil change...and killed a teg LS while test driving on the freeway. I'm sure he realized that his altezza's didnt help him that much when I was pulling away every shift...

thx alot, i need one very soon cause the engine is already tilting forward, the two side mounts are already worn badly, just the rear one holding tight.

You may have to wait a week, because according to place racing and jdmhondaparts, they're in back order. I found out when I called em last week to get mine exchanged...thought they were defective. It shouldnt be that long

as long as its not too hot...No A/C. Plus, I didnt think the tranny would fit in the trunk. In fact I drove my Mercedes last Saturday.
* I didnt have Place Racing mounts, I was going to get the crossmembers exchanged because I thought the bolts didnt line up when I tried to install em the first time.

I meant in the back...I have a single speaker box w/ 12 inch JL sub and an upper rear strut bar so it's really tight. I didnt want to put it in the back seat either even if you have a box for it. I'm really very particular with regards to keeping that old car clean. My stock rear seats looks brand new and the front Recaro seats are clean too. If I wrap it in a plastic garbage bag maybe I can put it in front (on the floor).
i also got the place racing front x-members and i also had problems with the bolt holes lining up. 3 of the bolts went right in no problem but the 4th hole was off by half the bolt diameter. any body else out there have the same problem with the place racing EF x-member?

Place racing crossmember claims it minimizes if not eliminate wheel hop. It is not at all connected to any of the engine mounts unless you use the front mount that comes with the crossmember, so I would assume, it just replaces your stock crossmember and will work with any kind of motor you may have.

This is how we did it...bolted 2 on one side, loosen both radius arms screwed in the 3rd bolt half way and used a crowbar to move the crossmember to line up the last bolt and it worked. If you can at least insert the bolt half way through then that should be it...tightening it is a piece of cake.
Me and two of my friends all run HCP mounts and my one buddy just made his front mount fit. He said night and day difference. I have A/C on mine and I need to add my front mount. When I back off on it in gear I think the comp is hitting the front crossmember. But don't count out the front mount........
what no pictures???? you know where the radius arms connect to the front crossmember is there a bushing there??? if there is then you will have wheel hop.. if you noticed z10 doesn't... but i'm buying the place front crossmember and having my brother add more welds cuz i heard the place crossmember was kind of weak.....

By the way, anyone in the Bay Area need a stock crossmember hammered to fit a jdm 4-1 header, let me know...here's a pic of it.
Beats cutting the front mount and hammering.
