i sold this guy some guages a while ago using COD. he received the guages, but there was some mix up with usps. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=247823 I contacted theory48 about this incident and he was quite comprehending. he offered to check the status of his personal check he paid with and it turned out that the check wasn't cashed yet. He suggested that he can place a "stop payment on the check" and send me the money via paypal, so i agreed. He apparantly did some research and found out that the lady that runs the department at usps went on vacation and left all the work sitting there until she got back....so that explained why my check hadn't arrived yet. He then e-mailed me saying that i should give it atleast another week as the lady was on vacation. well it so happened that the check did finally make it to my house and i e-mailed him about it. his reply was "pheeww im glad this is all taken care off"
anyway, to make a long story short i cashed the check and this fool placed a "stop payment" on the check. the money came out from my bank account!!!! i have already e-mailed him and to this date no reply......i already have a feeling that i won't be seeing the money from my blitz guages. i have proof of everything from the bad check my bank sent back to me and the slip from when they withdrew the money from my account. just thought id share this with fellow H-T members to see if anyone knows this guy and can give him a nudge to pay me my money . He seemed kinda legit to me in the beginnig, but not so much recently. lesson from all this

When you send something C.O.D you have the option of checking a box that says Money Order, or Cashiers Check only and another box for Cash only, and another box for, it doesnt matter....

Somewhat your fault, but not completely, shoulved checked the right box, and if you did, USPS, is liable for the right payment,,,, trust me I know this, same thing happened to me, i got a check, I checked off Money order only, didnt even bother cashing the check, USPS gave me a check the next day.

 

well it was my first time doing cod so i wasn't familiar with the procedure. if i had to do it all over again i would have never sent it cod. i do realize that i could have learned more about cod to perhaps prevent this from happening, but scammers still get my vote

what? i don't know about you making all these accusations against me. first of all, i checked my account and called the bank. i know that i haven't contacted you in a while but for whatever reason you think i'm being shady here, i can have the same doubts about you. there is no record of a stop payment being made. plus, even if i do make a stop payment, the bank informed me that stop payments are only guaranteed for 6 months. this means that YOU still have my check and you can still cash it after those 6 months and why i didn't want to do this. the reason i told you to "give it another week" was because there was a fee of $15.00 to place a stop payment and that i'd write you another check but that'd mean that i'd actually be paying 15.00 dollars more than what we agreed on. you contacted me ONCE after my last reply and all of a sudden, you start buggin out and basically ruining my rep making me look like a crook w/o anything to back it up. i really don't appreciate you posting on h-t.com like this messing up someones rep when their rep is the most important thing especially on forums where that is all you can go by. just to let you know, i recently started school and have been busy w/ work and what not and haven't really gotten a chance to take care of everything and that includes THIS situation. For one thing, you're making a big deal about two gauges. i've been spending lots of money on parts that cost way more than this and i'm not a person that would make disgrace of himself for something this small. email me your info and i'll give you my address where you can mail the check back and we'll take care of the situation privately w/o making a big *** scene blowing everything out of proportion.

 

i've been quick to respond while the transaction was goin on? every time i replied to your e-mails was while i still had the gauges on me. if i wanted to be shady, i didn't have to contact you at ALL. you really need to stop tripping and put some more trust in people.

Well you haven't exactly contacted me via e-mail....i left you my number and asked you to please give me a call and resolve this and what do i get nothing... not even a single e-mail. i didn't start ruining ur rep on h-t out of the blue. You posted on this thread and you still haven't contacted me as yet. if you are so busy with school and what not, the least you can do is e-mail me and say that you will take care of this when you're not quite so busy. you sure seemed to find enough time to post on H-T all this time...why can't you send me a simple e-mail to say what's up! and i don't think im making a big deal out of the guages....it's not my problem that you spend way more money on other parts and spend less on the guages....the fact is that i still don't have my money!!! if you feel like you need to contact me after i post the pictures of the receipts and the bad check then feel free to do so. although it shouldn't have taken H-T to prove my point

i just sent theory48 an e-mail regarding our situation again and will see if he replies. i will keep everyone up to date on this and will not disclose pics of my receipts and bad check (theory48), until further notice
