opinions on EBC brake parts
Can anyone give me some opinions of their EBC Brake pads (red or green) and rotors. Whatever you have? Im thinking of trying out their stuff. I've used power slots and AEM pads and they worked pretty well, but think that I might try something new.
any help?

crap, its all crap. The greens destroy you rotors and they don't last very long, the reds are even worse... If you want good pads try Hawk or Porterfield, don't waste your time or Money on EBC.

I had green's. They are THE SHITtiest pads. Don't use them, they warp rotors nicely, even on my car before it saw any track time. Later, Overkll
I'm with these guys.
EBC Green pads ate my rotors for breakfast and **** them out before 9AM. Twice.
AEM pads are pretty nice though. Running them all around and definitely liking them for street and AutoX. They're obviously not going to stand up to track driving, but so far I haven't been able to get them to fade.

I remember when they were first available in the US. After I heard that the application for my particular car wouldn't even fit, I stopped paying any attention at all.
I mean, if they don't even fit right, one has to wonder.

Stay away from EBC. I went with Porterfield R4S compound and I'm overjoyed with them. They see lots of auto-x, and have yet to fade out or warp my Powerslots (I hope they never do warp, seeing as they can't be turned
)..

i have EBC greens with brembo blanks.
I dont have any complaints about the pads. I have over 10k miles and 5 days of autox on them.
I think they are a great street/autoX pad, and will take everyones word on how much they suck on track.
And mine fit perfectly too

I had the EBC Greens on my Integra. They had decent bite on the street and for autox. They dusted a lot, though it was a lighter color than the HP+ dust. However, I faded and glazed the heck out of them at autocrosses once I started left foot braking in the car. I then installed the Hawks and found out that I quickly had to readjust my braking since I needed much less pedal pressure to generate threshold braking, and to keep my forehead from getting slammed into the dashboard. Seriously, they work well for autox and street provided you are good at modulating the brakes or have ABS. I couldn't get them to fade autocrossing.
To recap what someone else said:
I had Greens: CRAP! Pure crap - no impurities - just crap.
On my car with PowerStop rotors (cross drilled) and in 3 months they glazed over to a nice shiney glass. Car wouldn't stop anymore. Sold them on Ebay and bought AEMs - no problems after 2 years.

About a year and a half ago I had the Green Sh*t on for no more then 2 months and one track event. On the street they felt hardly better then stock. On the track they stopped decent for about 10min and by the 2nd session the car would hardly stop at all. (w/ Motul 600 fluid) By the 3rd session the pad was finished and destroyed my rotors. Had to sit out my 4th session.
THEY ARE CRAP!!!!!

That's really wierd. I've got three friends that daily drive and auto-x Miata's, and they use EBC rotors and pads and they like them.
Rob is almost always in the top 2 in our CSP class...
Very strange.

Haven't tried the Pads...but my EBC rotors are doing ok so far.
And can you imagine, they warranty the rotors, if you use EBC pads with them? That's pretty cool.. Too bad I'm using Hawk HP+.

Yup I used them for 3 months of autocrossing and daily driving. Maybe got 4000-6000 miles on them and about 4 autocrosses on them before they were toast.
I heard someone used the RedPoop and theirs caught on fire at a track day.

Wow... I don't think I've ever read so many nasty negative comments about a product/company and where people have actually bought and used the product...
Damn, am i glad i bought the Porterfields, as at the time of purchase, some 18 months and some 15,000 miles ago, I briefly considered getting the EBC pads. They had just came out on the market then...

I went with Porterfield R4S too after the EBCs and haven't had any pad/rotor brake related problems since. I did think the initial bite of the Greens was very good, way better than stock, but that was the only good thing. I can't say that they "caused" my rotors to warp, but there was definitely a correlation between warped rotors and EBC greens. The other negatives is that they dust as much as other brake pads even though EBC claims they are relatively dust free (or something to that effect), and they just wear out way too fast for $50.
If you are looking for a high-performance street pad that is well suited as well for solo-2 auto-x and light to moderate track use, then I highly recommend the Axxis Ultimate. It is fade-free to 1000F, and has 15-20% more braking torque as compared to the OEM Honda compounds. The wear rates are similar to OEM, and it is very rotor friendly, while also requiring minimal heat.
Many Honda-Tech.com members have used the Axxis Ultimate with excellent results. Honda-Tech.com members receive a 15% discount from Cobalt Friction Technologies (www.cobaltfriction.com) on the Axxis Ultimate until the end of August (2 more days)...after that, the regular Honda-Tech.com discount of 10% applies.

My experience wiht Axxis ultiamtes were grat, I used them for my 10 to 15 laps around Jefferson circut and for the whole weekend @ cmp and they were great , I still have over half of the pad left, granted I was running novice, CMP and Jefferson are not know to be easy on brakes.
