just start by removing the compressor

then you will need to remove the front cooling thingy... it's behind the bumper

then all the lines.

then the wiring..

it's pretty straight foward, remove the belt, condensor w/ brackets, dryer can in drivers side front fender, ac cooler/radiator, ac lines..... anything you unplug from any ac components just neetly ziptie to the side of your radiatior. the lines next to your evap can on the firewall are a bitch to get off. i just removed mine for my b16 swap.... freed up lots of space, donno if it helps w/ cooling or hp though.... i also removed the ac fan... no need for it although you could prolly wire it into the same circuit as your reg fan and run both at the same time for more cooling.

make sure you have the system evacuated first though...and I'm interested in buying one of the hoses off of you...the one that goes from the reciever/drier(cylinder behind driver headlight) and goes down to the condensor.

this is the wireing for the condenser and the ac fan.... i just rolled them up and ziptied.

None. AC only robs you of HP if it's on. Just turn it off when you're going to race. As for a weight savings... the whole thing, condensor, pump, hoses, wiring... only weighs about 40 lbs. I say leave it in unless you're trying to stuff a turbo in there.

On EG's there is the a box that the AC lines in the engine bay hooks into at the firewall. Im pretty sure its the same way on a CRX, tho I havent looked. On a EG that box weighs in at around 40lbs, BUT I believe it distributes the heat too, so you cant take it out.

Heres a pic of my CRX with AC removed.
