How do you Check CEL codes??

Default How do you Check CEL codes??

I was wondering how do you guys check for which code is turning on the CEL?? Is it a complicated process? Do i need to buy anything??

no need to buy anything. What kind of car do you have? The ECU should be located under your passenger capet, up by the firewall. To turn the car on and the ecu light should blink to let you knows it working. then if you are throwing any codes the LED light on the ECU will start to blink.

Long blinks are counted by 10

Short blinks are counted by 1

I dont remember the exaxt site but if you seach ECU codes on http://www.google.com then you should be able to find what all the codes mean. HTH
