California Driving School @ Thunderhill 10/12
This driving school/lapping day is being put on by my Dad and a couple of his friends. If you fill out the forms, it will not guarantee entry. Each application will be looked over and you will be notified to whether or not you will be able to attend.
Here are some details.
HWY GT Driving School
Information
October 12, 2002
Thunderhill Park
The HWY GT Driving School drivers will be segregated into groups based upon experience level. Group A is defined as the entry or beginner level. Group B will be composed of those who have had some prior experience. Group C will be composed of drivers who have had more basic instruction and have shown that they are ready to work on a lead follow basis without in-car instruction. It is expected that the drivers are able to exhibit good car control at speed.
HWY GT Driving School Rules:
1. Have fun
2. Car is street legal
3. No contact
4. No stealing of apexes
5. Only “Point By” hand signal passing allowed
6. Passing only on the left
7. Allow other drivers to pass if they catch up with you
8. Passing only allowed between 15 - 1, and 13 – 14. Group C can also pass between 9 – 10.
How the Program Works:
Groups A and B are structured so that there is a Ride-Along during all on-track sessions. Downloading sessions for all Group A and Group B drivers will be done after each on-track session. Download sessions attendance is mandatory.
Group C is structured to allow drivers to begin working on their skills. As the day progresses, the passing rules are changed for Group C allowing them more opportunity to practice passing in shorter straights. After lunch the Sponsor will make the call regarding opening up passing depending upon the conditions for the day and the mix of drivers.
There will be 5 sessions for Group A/B and 6 sessions for Group C1 and Group C2. There will be a maximum of 20 drivers per session.
Here are the forms.

what's your definition of lead/follow?
To me this sounds like group C will have to follow an instructor around the track. Is that not the case?
