About to change my oil pan gasket...
Also make sure you remove the small washers that get stuck on the threads when you take the pan off. I had a headache with mine because I ddint see the small washers from the old gasket still on the engine.

I just replaced this gasket 2 days ago. Put the gasket on the bottom of the engine block 1st. Then put the oil pan on. If you put the gasket on the oil pan 1st you will struggle trying to get the oil pan around the flywheel and your gasket will not seat properly.
Just make sure the engine is not hot. You don't want to get burned by hot oil. Also there is a small plate the has to be removed form the flywheel side befor you start to remove the oil pan. I believe it has 2 15mm bolts on it. All of the rest should be 10mm.
work your way from the inside out in a criss-cross pattern when tightening up the oil pan. i had mine leak on me b/c i didn't tighten it properly.
i also tighten it up in like 3 stages to make sure it has an even seal.

I've taken my oil pan and friends off and on many times...and I've never even SEEN a washer. So therefore I think you're talking crazy talk.
the small washers are actually inside the gasket. They fit around each bolt hole so that when the gasket is torqued it doesnt smash out from the tightening of that bolt. One other thing is to remember to Hondabond the corners of the gasket. Ive done a few pan gaskets and they are much fun.

and yes hondabonda is a must for the gasket.
thanks!
