wooohoooo....Type R 22mm swaybar installed last night
Well, I finally got the rest of my bolts yesterday.
I stayed late at Acura and put in the swaybar. The ride is completely different! Turns are more exciting and everything feels tighter and more sensitive. HIGHLY recommend this mod.
Anyone ever heard of the crossmember frame actually cracking due to the increased tension? I bought the BSQ kit, is that supposed to prevent that? I torqued everything with a torque wrench and followed the instructions on bsq's website.

swaybar is mounted AWAY from the subframe. When the
swaybar is mounted in this fashion, the swaybar is
able to exert torque on the subframe and this stresses
(ie. flexing back and forth) the mounting points and
eventually causes the mounting points to pull away
from the subframe.
As with anything, an increased amount of leverage
makes it easier to do work. This is governed by the
lever law: force x distance = torque. As distance--or
the length of the lever--increases, the resulting
amount of torque also increases. (This is why it was
easier to move your big brother on the teeter-totter
when he moved towards the middle and you stayed out on
the end. You enjoyed increased leverage at the end,
while he suffered from reduced leverage near the
middle.)
The proper way to mount a large swaybar is to mount it
DIRECTLY to the subframe (eg. Integra Type-R). This
prevents the torque and stress on the subframe.

I have been running the Type-R rear swaybar (with my mounting kit
) for nearly 4.5 years with no problems. I have also been selling my mounting kit for over 2.5 years and there has been no reported problems.

I've had my Type R rear sway bar on for going on 3 years now, no problems whatsoever. Best suspension mod I did period. Best thing is I got everything for around 100 bucks including BSQ's mounting kit. Thanks BSQ
