Did a mini me, switched ecu and now i get a cel code HELP!!
Recently I did a mini me swap on my d16y7 block
Everything runs great
I just bought a vtec ecu
and I hooked up the vtec
plugged the ecu in
and now I get a cel code
I saw a post a day or so ago about if the vtec isnt hooked up properly u get a cel code
now i ran a switch to my vtec solenoid and tested it out, it clicks and everything,
I double checked the connections to the ecu, everything is fine
I tried checking the cel code and it doesnt blink, it just stays lit so i dont know what is wrong
On the vtec pressure sensor, does one wire go to ground and the other to the vtec pressure pin on the ecu?
and does it matter which wire goes to ground
i think it might be the ecu, but im not sure
also it could be that i hooked up the vtec to the wrong pins on the ecu
if someone has a diagram to show me which pins im supposed to hook it up to, i could double check it
thanks in advance

sorry about that
what i meant was it runs great with the old ecu, the one with no vtec
but when i plug the vtec ecu in
it gives me a cel code (which doesnt blink when i try to check it, just stays lit)

Usually when the light stays on, it means the ecu is defective. Try a different one if you are confident on your wiring.
you put on a Z6 head or a Y8? i heard if you run the Z6 you will be off on timing unless you run a cam gear. anyone back me up on this?
what year is your civic body and what year is your ECU? There are two OBD2 harnesses in these cars, depending on year/model. Some are NOT plug and play.
i have a 97 dx hatchback
put a z6 head on it
and yes i have an adjustable cam gear, my cam timing is fine
i put a 96 ex ecu in it, it plugs in fine
and i know the 99-00 ex ecu's are different
