Default B18c in crx hf ( how to )

I currently have a b16a in my crx and would like to upgrade to the jdm b18c ( 180 hp). I know it will mate with my j1 tranny, but what other wiring problems will I encounter. Could i just swap distributors, wire harness, off the b16a to make it work. Also still use my pwo ecu.

isnt the jdm gsr is obd1.. you'll have grey plugs if it is.. and i dont even think the OBD0 distributor will match up correctly without some modification to it. good luck

Yeah..unless you have a del sol swap and already did the conversion, youll have to rewire your engine harness to work with the c1. http://www.hasport.com/88-91_OBD_B-series_Swap_Tech.htm that should help you out.

intake manifold is different. the GSR manifold has dual butterflies..you'll need a skunk2 manifold.

use a skunk 2 manifold
chip your ECU to get rid of the secondary 02 sensor, and increase your fuel.
the B16 distrib. will bolt up fine.

I'm swapping in a b18c1 in soon and i was wondering if we can keep our stock hood. And if we do will the engine have to sit lower?

You can keep your stock hood. The engine shouldn't have to sit lower.
I just cut the re-inforcement stuff off of the under side of the hood to get it to clear. Pretty easy, no problems.

I have basically all of my parts for my B18C1 swap, I am just deciding on a few things. I am staying OBD0, and plan on boosting the motor in the future. The only thing left to get is an ecu. I was planning on getting either the Skunk2 intake manifold and a Mugen chipped PR3 ecu, or getting the Zdyne chipped PM6 ecu to run like a stock GSR ecu. Pricing would go about 600 for the Skunk2 and chipped ecu, or 425 for the zdyne. I also believe in the future when I get the Zdyne gold ecu (for turbo), they subtract the cost of any previous ecus you buy from them. $425 is a nice chunk out of a $1000 ecu.

Any advice?
