Need Serious Help Wiring HID JDM ITR Front Headlamps. HELLLLLPPP!
I received my JDM Front end Conversion back recently. The shop that installed it did everything but wiring for the headlamps. Ok so some please explain.
I see there is a slot for 1) Regular Headlights
2) Turn Signals
3) Fog Light
4) Parking Light/ City Lights
5) Unknown but I think its Hi Beam
I have a 1998 Acura Integra and the stock Integra use the 9006 headlight. This does not fit directly in the housing it is lose and is not the proper part. I Need to know what Type of HID headlights I need to purchase (H4, 9004? ETC) I am looking a Mccullochs or Philips but neither company knows what I need
I am more frustrated than anything. Also How the heck do I wire the Fog lamps?
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

Ok I understand that this picture is the Female end of the plug on the JDM Headlamp. My Question now is where, how and from whom do we get the Male end from. Also What are the proper HID Size to use??
I dont have a JDM front end. My first guess would be that you wouldnt have a male plug to begin with. Just get some connectors from Radioshack and hook em up. In fact, my friend with his JDM front end did that.
Source the wiring colors from each light. I think the HID is specifically made by Honda? Dont know.

See the bulb does not seat plush with the back of the headlamp. Its obvious that the stock headlights are different then the JDM Headlights need to be

I think the 9006 bulb should fit with no problem..I have the JDM non HID housing and that's what I used...I just bought a set of Philips 4300k HID from Trevor of Visualdynamics and the light output is amazing..In fact, the HIDs are even brighter than BMWs or Audis..
well thanks for the help anyways
You have HID lenses, that is if the pic that you posted is of your car...now where to obtain the bulbs...
or
dealerships...but then again you most likely need the HID ballasts too..have a good nightAustin - who has had a long day, and needs to go to sleep
dammit I was too tired to post, but I figured I will put this thread to sleep as I will do to myself in a few mins.
First off, if those pictures of the headlights above are yours then you have the 98+ spec OEM HID headlight housings. See the lines going through the headlight clear front? Notice how they stop and don't go across the projector? Thats a good indicitation that you have the OEM headlight housings. JDM headlights that are not OEM HID headlight housings have the clear lines going across the projector.
Next if you do have the OEM HID headlight housings (which are or are identical to the ones pictured above) then you should have the HID ballest, bulbs, etc... whuch should have come with the headlight housings. If you did not get these, then contact the place you got the front, etc... from and find out whats going on.
Next if you do not have the OEN HID headlight housing which are pictures above and you want HID's, then you will have to get a 9006 HID kit from any place like visualdynamics, etc... Any 9006 HID kit will work.
Next if you have the OEM HID headlight housings which are pictured above, then you will have to use OEM HID bulbs. They are called D2S and D2R. D2R are for non-projector OEM HID systems and D2S (which you would have or want) are for projector style OEM HID systems.
The OEM HID style bulbs for every OEM HID kit on any car are all held in place by the metal clip style which is pictured above. Also the OEM HID bulbs do not twist and lock. They are just tension held by that metal clip (kinda like H1 bulbs (IE the bulbs for your fogs or high beams, etc...). These OEM bulbs can be found at any dealership which sells cars with factory HID's. Just say you want D2S or D2R bulbs. They are expensive BTW. Visualdynamics, etc... might also sell them.
Also if you do have the OEM HID housings and did not get the HID parts, you will also need ballests for the bulbs and also a way to seal that big opening for the headlights. IF I WERE YOU I would contact the place you got the front from and ask them why you have the OEM (98+spec) FACTORY HID HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS and do NOT have the HIDS that come WITH them.
Here's a picture showing the NON OEM FACTORY JDM HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS:
(notice the clear lines going through the projector. These are 9006 headlights.)

Hope that helps, time for sleep now...

Rboosted717: Thanks for the input. Yes I do have OEM HID JDM Headlight housing (Purchase NEW 3 weeks ago). No they did not come with HID Kit (ballast and bulbs etc). The seller said they did not have any Non HID Headlamps and where willing to sell the full conversion without the HID Kit, which cost extra $1000.00 or so.
So know getting back to what you said. I need " D2S or D2R bulbs."? Can I get this through an aftermarket HID Dealer? I don't want to spend $1k for an OEM Hid kit? Also Mike from IPS racing told me to get S2000 Hid Kit? I have different info from different people

Yes Mike from IPS is correct. You can get a salvaged S2000 kit, etc... Just get a kit for a factory projector HID kit. IE D2S bulbs. The S2000 kit is a D2S factory kit so it will work out ok.
you could go with a aftermarket kit too. However you will have to get a aftermarket HID kit with D2S factory HID bulbs and not the retrofited bulbs with the halogen style bases to them. I'm sure if you contact Trevor at visualdynamics he will be able to get you a Philips kit with the OEM factory style D2S HID bulbs. Trevor knows what he's talking about and doing so he's probally one of your best bets for them. Also even with a aftermarket HID kit, you will still have to get a plate or something to cover up that huge opening for the headlights where the HID bulbs go into. See the plastic cap for the highbeam/ citylight area? You need to make something like that to cover the HID headlight area. If you do not cover it condensation, etc... will build up in the headlight housings at night or in the morning with damp air. I'm sure if you go to a plastic place (over here in CA we have a place called Tap Plastics) which can cut a piece of plastic to cover up the opening. Kinda like a 3" circle disc to cover it up. However you will need to also have a put a slit in it for the HID wire to go though since the ballest sits out side of the headlight housing.
Here's the correct wiring diagram for your OEM JDM HID headlight housing:
Ooops just saw the diagram is also above. Also as for connecting a harness to them, either you can get one from a Japan salvage yard or you can use some harness thats under that dash that will fit it. I thinks it a SRS harness or ABS harness. Or what it a starter harness? I forget. Most people just use spade connectors to wire it up.

JDMTEG98... you have mail... I have a pair of OEM HID headlights that are broken BUT have the full HID ballasts with bulbs, etc.
Thanks for all the input guys,
Does this apply for non HID headlights too? I mean I know they are not plug and turn style lights, so what are they?
What about wiring for the fog-lights? Is it the same as mentioned above?
What type of bulbs do you use?

the NON-Factory OEM HID JDM headlights use a 9006 halogen bulb for the low beam headlight. You can get 9006 kits from Trevor, etc... The 9006 are very common and are the same headlight style (9006) as the US front headlights for the integras. The fog light wiring is up to you. The fogs use H3's (55w) and the highbeam uses H1 (55w). The fogs need to be wired to a relay and switch. Doing that is up to you. IM Mike from IPS Racing or typerMSM and he will post his famous diagram on wiring the fogs.
Thanks RBoosted,
I think I'm good to go, but I just want to make sure I'm on the same page for the high-beams.
Do I need to get a male connector, connect it to the wires in the above diagrams, and then plug it into the female end of the JDM headlights? Does that sound about right? I've been told to use a 94-01 cruse control switch.
THX.

the cruse control switch if used for the OEM look for the fog light switch. And yeah Mike can post the info/diagram on that. Also as for connecting the wires to the headlights, just use spade connectors.
Looking into HID Lamps. I had One guy email me about OEM HID Kit. Should I get the OEM Kit? Is it better or worse then the Aftermarket? Can I get Aftermarket bulbs? I assume OEM HID Kits are perfect fit ?
